ScoutPalSE3 Scanner Phone System - Features

[ScoutPalSE3]   [The Package]   [Features]   [Pricing]   [Order]

  • The phone and scanner when attached together (Industrial Strength Velcro®) become a single device that you can hold in one hand.  The scanner is 1" thick, and the cell phones vary from about 3/4" to 1" thick, depending on phone model, making the assembled system approximately 2" thick overall.  Refer to the pictures at the top of the page to see what the assembled system looks like.

  • The scanner used with ScoutPalSE3 is a true Laser barcode scanner.  It attaches to the phone and interfaces with ScoutPal lookup services using the ScoutPalSE3 hardware and software System, custom developed by ScoutPal.

  • The scanner system will work with a wide array of iDEN Falcon handset styles.

  • The scanner system is flexibly designed so that you can scan either from the top or the bottom of the phone, whichever is most comfortable.

  • ScoutPal can look up any and all merchandise listed on Amazon.com by ISBN or UPC.  This includes books, tapes, CD's, DVD's, software, and other consumer merchandise listed on Amazon by UPC barcode.  (Items without barcodes can also be looked up by manually entering the ISBN/UPC digits.)

  • The scanner is self-powered, using ordinary AAA batteries.

  • The scanner is dual-purpose:  It can be detached from the phone and used with a desktop or laptop computer, handy for listing items after you return from scouting.   A serial cable for this purpose is included with the scanner.

  • You can also easily completely detach the scanner and use it in "portable batch mode."  It can scan in hundreds of barcodes into its self-contained memory, which can then be uploaded when you reattach it to your computer.

  • The scanner makes a slight clicking sound each time you push the scan button, and it can be configured to beep after a scan has completed or you can configure it to keep the beep sound turned off.

  • The ScoutPalSE3 program is simple and easy to use.  You can scan in a list of ISBN's, and FETCH them all at once, or scan them one at a time.  [Operating Instructions]

  • You must have a standard ScoutPal subscription ($9.95/month) in order to use ScoutPalSE3. If you don't already have an active ScoutPal service subscription, instructions on how to begin one will be included when you receive your phone.
